WINTER PROMOTION - Read a novel!

At least in some parts of the world, it's winter. Cold. Yucky. Freezing Rain. Stay inside, rest those carpel tunnels and read a good book. The following are novels found in the fiction section of the JFR bookstore (see http://www.jew-feminist-resources.com/b_fiction.html). For a good mystery series, try the Rina Lazarus and Peter Decker series by Faye Kellerman. The first book is The Ritual Bath. There are now 10 in the series, so you'll have a good read before you have to stop and wait, and wait, and wait, for the next one.

Apples from the Desert: Selected Stories
by the Israeli author Savyon Liebrecht is a collection of short stories about Arabs and Jews, the Holocaust and interpersonal relationships.

Remedios: Stories of Earth and Iron from the History of Puertorriquenas
by Aurora Levins Morales reflects Morales' Jewish Latina heritage.

The Ghost of Hannah Mendes: A Novel by Naomi Ragen
depicts one family's search for their Sephardic Jewish roots.
